  14. Nice setup and shave. That shavette is sweet. One day I may give a shavette a go. I’ll prob give the single edge such as a Hawk a go next but I am good with the DE now. I revisited my first DE which is a Progress. Best shave yet on that DE. Technique has improved as well as using a sharper blade – GSB. Have a good one and hope your mom and dad are ok.

    I’m going to push back just a bit on your comments regarding increased pricing and, in particular, the portion where you say ‘you need to remember that.’ (I’m paraphrasing but I’m close).

    I think we all need to remember, as hobbyists, that we have benefited greatly over the years from artisans that have invested their time, talents and treasures so that we may have a great shave. I’ll also include vendors in this as well. In the end, we have no idea how their balance sheet looks so while there are many that are making a comfortable living I would hazard a guess that many more are struggling to stay just north of the red or carrying a large amount of debt to continue operating.

    As a ‘community’ we seem to be quick to praise an artisan/vendor, for example the ‘Pete Pour’ or other types of generosity, and equally quick to throw stones when something doesn’t meet our liking. I think we should keep in mind the generosity to the ‘community’ starts and ends with us by providing support via purchases.

    These artisans/vendors have rising costs along with the same economic pressures of filling the tank, stocking the freezer, etc. Personally, I don’t know where my breaking point is but I do know that turning my back on an artisan/vendor doesn’t feel especially great this early in the game.

    Anyway, thank you for taking the time to read my push back. It’s not especially uplifting but it needed to be said.

    If I didn’t have the DX and the IBC I would consider biting the bullet and buying the Tedalus but having those two that do the same thing I know I won’t.

  43. Would have been a great shave today, but I re-opened a cut on my face (my pitbull got over excited when playing and "pawed" me) . Just a tiny little cut easily fixed with razorock alum, but I can't call it a "problem free" shave.
