Investing in BitClout: My $1 Million Bet

BitClout, the blockchain-based, crypto-currency powered social network, has been making waves lately and I’ve decided to invest $1 million in it. In this article, I’ll explain my approach to investing in BitClout and share my reasons for investing in the platform.

What is BitClout?

If you’re not familiar with BitClout, you can read my earlier post, “What’s BitClout?” for an overview. In short, BitClout is a blockchain-powered social network that allows creators to monetize their content through the use of creator coins.

My BitClout Investment Strategy

I’m not buying shares in BitClout (the company) because, as far as I know, it’s not possible to do so. Instead, I’m taking a combination approach to investing in the platform:

1. Invest in startups/projects that are building value on and creating value for the BitClout ecosystem.

2. Invest in $dharmesh (my own creator coin on BitClout).

3. Invest in other creator coins to show support for useful content and tools.

4. Hold BitClout (the currency) itself.

Why I Decided to Invest $1 Million in BitClout

There are several reasons why I’ve decided to invest such a large amount (higher than my usual) in BitClout:

Momentum

BitClout has a growing community of creators and users, with more apps and tools being built on the platform.

Open Data and Environmental Impact

BitClout is open source and open data. The team behind the project is also making efforts to reduce the platform’s environmental impact.

Ease of Use

BitClout has recently removed the friction of needing to own Bitcoin in order to join the platform, making it more accessible to everyone.

Instincts and Risk Tolerance

I’ve been investing in startups and projects for over 15 years and have learned to trust my instincts and act within my tolerance for risk. While there are no guarantees with any investment, I believe in the potential of the BitClout platform.
