The ultimate winner of the Lab Asia-Pacific Global Aquaculture Challenge 2021 will be announced during a special award ceremony. They will receive a grand prize cash award of $120,000 and exclusive consulting and services from IBM, IBM Research Aquaculture, and IBM Environmental Services. Additionally, the winner will have the opportunity to present in the start-up showcase at the virtual Animal AgTech Innovation Summit on October 19-20. This event will provide further exposure and networking opportunities for the grand prize winner.

But that’s not all! In addition to the grand prize, there are several other prizes up for grabs, including the Salmon System Tablet Prize for Transformation, Aqua Bridge Middle East and North Africa Region Prize for Innovation, and the Singapore Enterprise Singapore and StartupSG Founder Grant. All eight finalists also have access to IBM Aquatech Support Services worth up to $180,000 per company.

As we await the announcement of the winner, we’ll have the chance to hear from Claire Pribula, the Managing Director and Co-Founder of The Yield Lab Asia-Pacific Tech Fund. She will provide insights into the genesis of this program and introduce the Ulab Federation of Funds. We’ll also hear from Larry Taylor, Co-Founder of The Yield Lab Asia-Pacific, who will share a retrospective of the past few months of mentoring and programming. Jim Sutter, the CEO of the US Soybean Export Council, will discuss how USSEC is supporting the aquaculture industry.
