  1. It’s not the military that the public should be asking but NOAA.
Military are trained to fight and defend the U.S.
There are no enemy subs operating at those depths so the Navy don’t build them to go down that far.
Plus the cost to build and operate the subs would be astronomical.

  2. To comment on what Capt Cao said the issue was the owner ignorintg the tons of knowlegde learned over the 60 years of deep water submersibles.
The Wright Brothers didn't have that nor did they know the Flyer's design with the rudder and warped wings would fall out of favor in a few years. They didn't have all the answers.
Stockton Rush knew and was told but sued to silence an engineer ringing the alarm and had lawyers look for loopholes to have payinig passengers listed as mission specialists.
Titan was a prototype and worse it wasn't over engineered with any safety margin for emergencies.
What's really tragic was the 19 year old kid going down in that thing.
"Remember the Titan" should be the motto to not cut corners.
    R.I.P.

  4. hes missing the point we have the knowledge now to know how things need yo be built these days. several backed out due to safety concerns so yes there needs to be regulation. litterally members of the deep sea diving wrote numerous letters about it to them and they had a former employee say the same shit and they fired him.

  5. did he just compare explorers that had no idea what they got into till they were there to oceangate lmao …………regulation should happen on anything you put others on smh……. what you need is to have your equipment and vessel safe for exploration……no one is saying dont explore but this could have been avoided by them actually getting it certified lol
