During the holiday season, there are so many things to love – hot chocolate, Christmas music, yummy treats, and of course, Santa Claus. Well, this Friday, all of those things and even fireworks are coming together for the Red Kettle Kickoff event at the Fresh Roast Store in Bellevue. It’s going to be a good time!
We have Major Greg Thompson from the Salvation Army and Abigail Liu from Marathon Ventures here to tell us more about the event. Major Greg, can you remind our viewers what the Red Kettle Kickoff is all about?
**Major Greg Thompson:** The Red Kettle Kickoff is a special event happening in several different areas this year. We’ve already had successful kickoffs in Council Bluffs and Omaha, and now we’re excited to partner with Marathon Ventures and the Chamber of Commerce for the Bellevue kickoff. It’s a great way for us to raise awareness and support for the Salvation Army.
**Interviewer:** And Santa Claus will be there?
**Major Greg Thompson:** Yes, Santa Claus will be making an appearance at the event. It’s always exciting to have him join us!
**Interviewer:** That’s fantastic! I’ve already seen some Red Kettles out in the community. Can people donate now?
**Major Greg Thompson:** Absolutely! We’ve already started collecting donations, but the Red Kettle Kickoff is a big event specifically for the Bellevue area. It’s a chance for the community to come together, enjoy some festivities, and support a great cause.
Abigail, as a representative from Marathon Ventures, can you tell us why you decided to partner with the Salvation Army for this event?
**Abigail Liu:** We’ve been partnering with the Salvation Army for several years now. They are a wonderful organization, and we believe in the work they do. This partnership allows us to give back to the community and make a positive impact.
