Now, let’s get to our first expert panel on how to get the one thing AI can’t do without – capital. The capital that we must attract to make BC and Canada both an incubator for talent and innovation, but also a global player. Jay Ayum is someone who knows how to do just that. He is currently a Senior Advisor to Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners (DTCP) and an investment advisor to TBT Partners. Jay also co-founded Translink Capital, a Palo Alto-based early-stage venture capital firm supporting entrepreneurs to develop customer connections and partnerships in Asia.

Matt Cartwright is a vocal proponent for examining the ethical implications of AI and its impact on society. Prior to founding Finn.AI, Natalie worked at the Global Fund in Geneva, managing a $250 million health investment portfolio.

Jason Smith is the CEO and Co-Founder of Klue, a curated intelligence platform providing companies with a lens into their competitors’ world. He’s a 20-year internet entrepreneur with experience building enterprise-focused technology companies.

Dave MacLeod is a serial entrepreneur and current CEO and Co-Founder of Thoughtexchange, the essential enterprise discussion management platform for scaling conversations.

And our moderator today is Michelle Moon, a VC investor and Principal at LG Technology Ventures. Michelle focuses on artificial intelligence, future mobility, healthcare, and energy. She has a true global perspective as to where AI investment dollars are going in terms of both technology and geography.

Now, let’s get going. How do we make BC a global player in AI? I’ll leave it to you, Michelle.
