#Tesla #Vision #ParkAssist
In this YouTube video, we explore the new Tesla Vision park assist feature for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y in the UK. Since December 2022, these models have not been equipped with parking sensors, leaving owners to rely solely on cameras for parking assistance. However, with the recent Tesla Vision software update, owners can now expect visual and audio guidance while parking.
We put Tesla Vision to the test in various scenarios, including perpendicular and parallel parking, maneuvering around objects like people, bins, fence posts, charging posts, and tree stumps. While the software update shows promise, it’s important to remember that it may not be entirely reliable, and it’s advisable to use cameras and mirrors as well.
It’s worth questioning why Tesla stopped fitting parking sensors before ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of the Tesla Vision software. There have already been reports of damaged Teslas without parking sensors, and it remains to be seen if this update will significantly improve the parking experience. Your thoughts and experiences are welcomed in the comments.

Hello everyone! Welcome to rsev. In this video, we’ll explore the Tesla Vision park assist feature and finally get to try it out. If you’ve purchased a Model 3 or Model Y in the UK since December 2022, you’ll know that these cars lack parking sensors. However, the recently rolled-out Tesla Vision software aims to compensate for the absence of physical sensors by utilizing the vehicle’s cameras.
This video serves as a test to see how well the Tesla Vision park assist performs and assess its accuracy in different scenarios. We’ll primarily focus on parallel and perpendicular parking, as well as maneuvering around various objects like people, bins, fence posts, charging posts, and tree stumps.
It’s important to note that while Tesla continuously improves its software through over-the-air updates, the current version might not be flawless. Therefore, it’s advisable to use your cameras and mirrors in addition to relying on Tesla Vision.
We can’t help but question why Tesla discontinued fitting parking sensors without ensuring the functionality, reliability, and effectiveness of the Tesla Vision software. Many Teslas have already suffered damages due to the lack of parking sensors, and it remains to be seen if this software update will sufficiently address the issue.
We look forward to testing Tesla Vision further as more updates roll out, and we hope that it will eventually provide reliable and accurate parking assistance. Thank you for watching!

Tesla Model 3 and Y in the UK since Dec 2022 have not been fitted with parking sensors at all. Aside from the cameras there has been nothing to help with parking like the now standard parking sensors any premium car would have. So even a brand new dec 2022 Model Y Performance costing £70k had NO parking sensors!
But at last the long-awaiting Tesla Vision software update has landed so owners should now get a visual and audio guide to how close they are getting to other vehicles around them.
Over the air software updates are an amazing thing that Tesla has been doing for years. We will no doubt see many updates in due course.
But how is it now?
Can you rely on it?
Does it really work using the cameras alone?
Well in this video we put it to the test in a number of different scenarios. Usual perpendicular and parallel parking, maneuvering around object like people, bins, fence posts, charging posts, tree stumps…
Don’t trust it is probably the best advice. use your cameras and mirrors! It’s not brilliant!
I just don’t know why they stopped fitting sensors before this was working, proven, tried and tested reliable software. There have already been many a damaged Tesla without parking sensors and I don’t think this will help much. It’s not really acceptable, is it?
Let me know your thoughts.
I look forward to testing once more updates have landed and hopefully it will work well, at some point…
Thanks for watching!

This is ridiculous. It could easily run over a child. Shame on you Tesla.
Worst decision by Tesla to throw away the uss. Tesla "vision" is almost useless. Had I relied on it I would have crashed the car many times.
Bring back those sensors Tesla we need to hear that beep sound 🙄
for parking, my Tesla MYP 2022 sucks. Many other high end cars have 360 parking that at least allows the driver see all around them. With the Y, fair vision in the back if its is day time. Forget about it at night. I don't think it's getting any better since I have had my car now for over a year.
Makes me embarrassed to own a telsa. This is 2023 isn't it?
How do you active it, I bought a model y last week and nothing comes up on the screen, wish I had known before I bought it
Seems to be better at detecting objects whilst the car is moving. This would make sense as you’d need those deltas to get a 3D representation. Still at best, it is dreadful.
On the plus side, I can’t stand the beeping noises on USS and am usually quick at hitting the “shut up” button to turn it off.
It’s still a very strange move by Tesla. :/
I think Tesla have to use USS and vision together. Not only vision. It will kill young kids.
What were Tesla thinking?! Outrageous decision!
Makes me want to cancel my order- that is dangerous especially if doesn’t stop for a pedestrian
It should be automatically applying the brake like a lot of other cars
Given they still haven't managed to get the windscreen wipers to work by using a camera instead of a sensor I'm not sure why they thought this was a good idea
Condition: after you parked on the street and the cars in front and behind have changed.
Test: Will the park assist help you in getting out without running into either new cars?
I acknowledge that it clearly failed and I don’t want to sound like an apologist for Tesla, but who parks without using their eyes to look through windows, onto mirrors and at the various camera images? When would someone rely on a parking system over their own vision?
Can anyone tell me how to turn Tesla vision on? Just picky my 23 model y up updated to 2023.6.9 I think it was but can’t seem to find how I do it
Hard to believe that Tesla ditched a working USS system for this Vision catastrophe. And why not continue using a system that actually works while you iron the wrinkles out on the newer Vision system? Very bad "decision making" on Tesla's part. Can anyone say "class action lawsuit" ?
I have it now it’s terrible. Unbelievable that they released this. It is actually a danger and will most likely cause increased accidents.
question for the people with 2023 tesla and latest vision update- is it worth buying tesla now or wait for few years till everything is fixed?
I think Tesla needs some necessary updates. Is it possible to check the radiation rates inside the vehicle with any EMF device?
The price drop came with some nice DOWNgrades. Who knew.
Do the Teslas without USS have the newer hardware? If not, why do older cars with sensors not have them disabled (as was done with the radar), If eliminating them was done to improve performance, albeit only incrementally, and the 'upgrade' is handled in software? I only bring this up because my parking assist quit working when one of the sensors went bad and I had to pay out of pocket to have it replaced.
Tesla, if you’re going to reinvent the wheel then you need to start with something round! I’m sure they’ll get there but to replace something before it’s been fully tested is simply negligent and liable
So sad – we were literally going to buy this car for our daughter, but forget it now…
Mine seems to work, can you demonstrate summon with vision?
Richard, do you have any plans to test the bmw IX? I’m undecided but gather it’s a very good EV beyond the looks?
Why does it make that awful whirring noise? Sounds like a vacuum cleaner is busy inside the car dusting-up.
So close to ordering this car until I’ve seen this. I think I could park my old Audi with the audible beep easier than this
